This is the third time I’ve opened this post today! I will NaPo. Decided on a weekly theme of found poetry, basically getting lazy towards the end! So today I’ve done a block out of an article from Now Then reviewing Raqib Shaw’s exhibition.
Here is an edited version of what I’ve taken from the article:
coiled fences keep the world
bursting twisting creeping sight
veins contort and spill like
a lush secret expecting
born of shock
devour time waits
brutal battle from inside
wounding, the angles of her wrists
hands seem to howl, to pour
the glint of a gaze
bared teeth prepare a huge feast.
…also spent the evening with Charmain handing out Jackie Kay’s novel round West Didsbury for World Book Night. Managed to fit beer and cake into the general book giving schedule:
