Blank Space: Artist Talk

The artist talk featuring Joe Doldon’s exhibition was really interesting, lovely to hear some in depth discussion about creating art. Here is my poetic response to Joe Doldon’s piece, Blind Contortion. It’s a beautiful sculpture, click through to view!

Alien flowers flourish and unfurl

sails going nowhere

the wall spits and tears at outside

an idea without substance

 

rain mourns the ground

slippery and ice on the windows

my breath a solid block from my lips

 

how the wind tucks its way into the room’s corner

and baffled, plucks the blinds like a stranger

trying to peer into your curtained world.
